HORARIUM ("the hours")

HORARIUM ("the hours")

"Know you not that they that run in the race, all run indeed, but one receiveth the prize? So run that you may obtain. And every one that striveth for the mastery, refraineth himself from all things: and they indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible one. I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air: But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway." -1 Corinthians 9:24-27

-The studies at OLMC Seminary are fundamentally rooted in the time-honored Catholic tradition of the philosophy and theology of the Angelic Doctor of the Church, St. Thomas Aquinas. OLMC also places a very high and necessary emphasis on the studying of the heresy of Modernism, which Pope St. Pius X correctly stated was simply the “synthesis of all heresies”. This focus on the heresy of Modernism, with all of its accompanying errors and heresies, is to train and prepare the seminarians to properly perform their Sacred duty as priests to protect and warn the flock of Christ entrusted to them of this deadly contagion and all of its forms. This task is accomplished through the rigorous studying of papal encyclicals, papal bulls, similar papal documents, the works of Archbishop Lefebvre, and other such material explaining and consequently denouncing these modern errors and heresies in the light of Traditional Church teaching.

-The spirit of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is one of a battlefield. Archbishop Lefebvre appropriately labeled the Second Vatican Council and its ensuing aftermath “World War 3”. The truth of the matter is that we are still today living in the midst of this most disastrous and demonic of wars, “World War 3”. When you're in the midst of a great battle with the most wicked and determined of enemies who will not cease until you, and every remembrance of you, are utterly annihilated, that is not the time to seek an agreement of any kind with this enemy. For after the agreement is signed, they will enter into your city with false smiles on their faces and peace offerings in their hands, and before you know it, the entire town will be lying in smoldering ashes. This is also not the time to relax your assault or to retreat, for if you relax or retreat, they will beat back or chase down your entire army and all of the city’s citizens, until each one is either found slaughtered or bending their knee to the wicked of kings. The only strategy against such an enemy is the one taken by Abp. Lefebvre. The only strategy is to charge forward fearlessly with full confidence in our Lord and Our Lady's protection, while courageously brandishing the sword of uncompromising truth. We at OLMC know full well that we are in the midst of the most terrible of wars, and we will not give in to the temptation to retreat. We therefore act with a wartime sense of urgency regarding all of our studies and undertakings necessary for the salvation of souls. We recognize souls are at risk, and it is our duty as future captains of Christ’s army in the Church Militant to beat back the enemies of Christ with one hand while protecting and safeguarding the flock of Christ with the other.

-Silence is an essential environment in the battlefield today, and that is the ideal to which OLMC strives. It is in silence where one can truly foster a deeper love towards the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary through the fostering of the habit of continual prayerful recollection with regard to the true faith. In these times of unbelief and compromise, it takes a great love of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary to remain faithful to one's duty to remain true to the unchanging Faith of all time.
